Looking to expand her knowledge of children's education she returned to the UK to study, and work as a practitioner in early years settings. Leanne later completed her level 4 qualification followed by her degree in Montessori pedagogy. Leanne’s research interests include play and gender. Teaching in an outstanding Montessori school, Leanne "enjoys the privilege of witnessing wonders of learning everyday alongside exploring wide topics through research."
Workshop Details: War, Weapon and Superhero Play in the Early Years
Drawing from action research in early years settings, this workshop explores aspects of War, Weapon and Superhero Play. We will examine attitudes towards this play and conflicts in the classroom. The workshop aims to challenge thinking by looking at how superhero play can support child development, as well as examining gender, conflict resolution and listening to children through play.
